To prevent that, you must only tap the home button once to go straight from the app to the home screen. If you double tap and switch to another app, then it will stop it from working. You must go the the home screen first. I had the same problem. You can only go from the app to the home screen. Only pre the home button once. To go straight from game to home screen.
